The start of our tubs and baskets in March, with no heat in the greenhouses, covering newly potted plugs with several layers of horticultural fleece to ward off any damaging frost. We grow geraniums, surfinia, nemesia, bacopa, starbini, nepeta, begonias, fuchsia, million bells, cosmos, scaveola, busy lizzie etc.. 

 

Grown hard and late, our creative baskets, tubs, troughs last well into the autumn, and most of the plants can be used again next year, given winter protection of a greenhouse or windowsill. 

 

Ilona was taught at the Welsh College of Horticulture and Harrogate Parks in  1970s, so we are talking about knowledge and understanding, and a lot of baskets under her belt.
